This prestigious project involved the comprehensive refurbishment of a fabrics factory to provide a new specialist training centre and office accommodation. The building officially opened in September 2017 and now provides a variety of vocational engineering related subjects to students and commercial clients.

BUILDING WORKS INCLUDED

  • Re-roofing and cladding with feature front façade.
  • Forming new modern classroom accommodation internally using high performance partitions.
  • Forming office accommodation to the front of the building using blockwork.
  • Renovation of the workshop floor involving the application of a new epoxy finish.
  • New electrical installation including a comprehensive IT installation throughout the building with A/C to major offices and a proportion of the classrooms.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Creating an economical state of the art training facility by converting a tired thermally inefficient building with major defects, making best use of the available space.
  • The project was delivered with zero reportable Health & Safety incidents.
  • The project was delivered with zero environmental notices issued.
  • Over 73% of Subcontractors used were local which exceeded the company target.
  • The project achieved a customer satisfaction score of 87% satisfaction rating with positive comments for the Site Manager.
