This project involved the refurbishment of the upper and lower changing rooms following flood damage caused by Storm Desmond, replacement of the eight-lane athletics track, with a new polymetric track to IAAF tolerances, replacement of equipment and site preparation for all weather football pitch.

BUILDING - CHALLENGES AND HOW WE OVERCOME

The interface with the public and site users and managing access with public access and existing public footpath. There was also an existing gun club on-site. Access was managed via close liaison with all stakeholders by the Site Manager.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • The project was delivered with zero reportable Health & Safety incidents.
  • The project was delivered with zero environmental notices issued.
  • Over 96% of waste generated was diverted from landfill.
  • 68% of subcontractors used were local to the project site.
