Phase 2

This scheme is on an extremely busy main arterial route into / out of Kendal and was completed, achieving the prime objective of minimising road-user inconvenience. Residents, businesses including B&Q, Asda and the local hospital, were all kept informed through implementation of our communication plan.

WORKS INCLUDED

  • All aspects of Roadworks in a busy urban site
  • Statutory Authorities liaison to procure new electric supplies for street lighting upgrade

KEY RISKS/CHALLENGES

  • Early contractor involvement benefitted traffic management planning in advance of site work.  
  • Rush hour traffic.
  • Heavy pedestrian & cycle usage.  

LESSONS IMPLEMENTED

  • Early meeting with Local Area Network Team to agree approach to critical temporary traffic management design.  
  • Site based ‘point of contact’ for stakeholders.
