Thomas Armstrong’s public relations were commended by local businesses, residents and councillors in this high profile location.

Councillor Alan Smith, Allerdale Council leader and ward councillor for Cockermouth All Saints, said:

“It’s great to see Market Place open again to traffic and I’d like to thank the contractors and colleagues at Cumbria County Council for doing such a good job”
"It was also great to see them going the extra mile and open up the street for the town’s carnival.
The Castle Bar via Facebook “top job done by Thomas Armstrong, all the lads have never stopped and helped us with brewery deliveries when needed.”

Rebecca Hanson – County Councillor for Cockermouth North:

“I commend your staff for their excellent work…they have been diligent, polite and proactively helpful and have been universally praised by the local community.”

Mark Hankin, Cumbria County Council, Project Manager said:

“From the outset, I must remark on the high quality of workmanship, the care and consideration shown for businesses, residents and visitors, and the constant professionalism of the team on site. The team has certainly made my job easier and it has been a pleasure to work with them. This very public and politically sensitive location has thrown up a number of challenges, but on each occasion, they have been met with resolve and overcome quietly and efficiently.
The comments and feedback I have received from businesses regarding the quality of the work and the positive and hardworking attitude of the team has been very satisfying. Nearly everyone I have spoken to have been impressed with the team on site and how hard they have worked to meet the ambitious timescale for completing the works. One female business owner remarked that the team were “courteous, polite, never shouted or swore and there was no cat-calls or wolf-whistles”. Other comments reflected the hard working nature of the team, the helpfulness with deliveries and that they were as accommodating as possible when it came to helping out generally. This good rapport is something we always strive to get and, on this occasion, it has certainly been delivered.
The finished product at Market Place is clean, tidy and has exceeded my expectations.
I would like to mention in particular the site foreman, Paul Osborne. Paul was the driving force on this site; he led by example at every turn and his organisation on site was exceptional. If Thomas Armstrong have any kind of reward or recognition scheme, I would be delighted to nominate Paul for consideration as he is a genuine asset to you. On top of all that, he’s a thoroughly good lad who want to do the best job that he can and will not accept second best. Well done Paul.
May I sincerely thank you for putting this particular team on the Market Street reconstruction works, I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better workforce”.
