The Works comprised the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a new Water Sports Club House and two adjacent Changing Blocks with external boat parking area and associated external works. The buildings were elevated on a partially buried concrete structure to lift them above the flood level.

CLIENT: The National Trust     VALUE: £1.7m (Mechanical - £100,000)    COMPLETION: March 2018    

DURATION: 63 weeks     CONTRACT: JCT Standard Building Contract

BUILDING WORKS INCLUDED

  • Building One – large function room, meeting room, kitchen & small plant room.
  • Building Two – Female shower, toilet & change facilities including lockers.
  • Building Three – Male shower, toilet & change facilities including lockers.
  • Use of structural insulated panels.
  • Ground source heating system.
  • Sewage treatment plant system.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • The project was delivered with zero reportable Health & Safety incidents.
  • The project was delivered with zero environmental notices issued.
  • 96% of waste was diverted from landfill.
  • Minimal complaints were received during the project.
  • The building was complete in time for the 2018 season.
  • Ground source heating will make the building economical to run.
  • No issues with working next to Lake.
