Center Parcs, Penrith

Visitor Car Park and Gatehouse Delivery at Center Parcs
As part of a wider £7m refurbishment and accommodation expansion contract at Center Parcs Penrith, Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd was appointed to deliver new civil engineering works to support the scheme.
This included the construction of a 120-space visitor car park sensitively positioned within woodland, together with a new gatehouse reception building. The works involved formation of new access roads, installation of a SuDS drainage system, lighting, bitumen macadam surfacing, and road markings. All work was delivered under a JCT Intermediate Contract across a 20-week period and completed on programme in April 2019.
With the holiday park operating as normal, deliveries were carefully scheduled to avoid disruption during changeover days. The project was further shaped by environmental restrictions, with additional consideration given to wildlife and phasing of construction to preserve existing facilities.
