KEY RISKS/CHALLENGES

• 24 hour working 7 days per week  
• Major trunk road. It was imperative that we worked all available hours to achieve the programme and not delay the reopening of the dual carriageway in either direction
• North bound dual carriageway carried out first followed by the South Bound dual carriageway
• Some activities were weather dependent and could have delayed the contract with very little scope to mitigate overruns
• Heavy traffic flows on a high-speed road

LESSONS IMPLEMENTED

• Subcontractor liaison and planning was essential to the smooth running of the contract
