LESSONS IMPLEMENTED/COLLABORATION/VALUE ADDED

  • ‘Look Ahead’ liaison with Office users and office refurbishment contractors.
  • Early Contractor Involvement meeting with Cumbria Highways Local Area Network Team to agree access arrangements.
  • In-River working experience from the 2015 Floods’ Infrastructure Recovery Programme
  • Additional wind support to temporary fencing due to exposed location of the site

PLANNING AND PROGRAMME

  • Programmed to fit with ongoing refurbishment of the office building.
  • Access / egress planned to avoid travelling dirt onto the highway.
  • Banksman to marshal vehicle movements onto the highway.
  • Earthworks & drainage phased to protect sub-grade from the weather.
  • Contract correspondence managed to NEC 3 timescales with programme reviews & CE quotes agreed.

SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES

  • Effective stakeholder management resulting in no complaints.
  • Tight contract timescale met.
  • Vehicle movements managed to keep highway clean during Groundworks operations.
